why is carpark gate stuck open?

my car is park there and gate is stuck open all night.
still open now, why ?

The motor burnt out. It was actually in the closed position & would not open, so was opened manually to allow cars in & out for a couple of nights.
I agree this is not ideal, for security of the cars in the rear carpark, but better stuck open than closed. Imagine if there was a fire & your only exit was the rear carpark gate. You would be trapped.
It's all fixed now.
